Having begun his accountancy training in the finance department of Logica, Richard moved to The Spot Co in 1992. On qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1996, he was promoted to Finance Director and co-owner of the company. When The Spot Co, along with Midnight Design, was acquired by PRG in 1999, Richard was retained as Finance Manager, becoming involved in the amalgamation and rebranding of the two companies as Fourth Phase.

Richard became Group Financial Controller at the end of 2000 and took on his current role in March 2006.
