Martin Locket

As Chief Executive of Production Resource Group UK Ltd, Martin Locket takes overall responsibility for representing PRG's four European brands: PRG Lighting, Essential Lighting, PRG Distribution and Summit Steel.

PRG's UK businesses operate as a network of specialist brands, focussed on a particular market sector or area of technical supply. The group currently operate from 4 UK locations and employ 200 staff across their companies. Martin has worked in lighting rental since 1987, working initially at London based Key Light and Theatre Projects.

He was one of the founding partners of Essential Lighting, established in London in 1993 to specialise in providing a high quality lighting service to the conference and live event industries. This business was ultimately sold to Australian public company, Staging Connections Group in 2007, and Martin remained Managing Director of the business, whilst representing the company within this global group's leadership team.

Essential Lighting was acquired by PRG in 2008 and Martin was appointed Group CEO of the UK businesses in 2009. Martin has held as fascination with stage lighting since childhood and is still involved in many of Essential Lighting's key projects and clients, on a design and project management basis. He has an interest in all aspects of the lighting industry and works closely with UK COO Richard Williams to drive the businesses within new and existing markets and locations.
